The Library Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:00 P.M. at the Main Library, Administrative Conference Room, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica, California. The public is welcome to attend.

The Santa Monica Public Library Board shall have charge of the administration of the Santa Monica Public Library.
The Library Board shall have charge of the administration of the Santa Monica Public Library, and shall have power and be required to:(a) Make and enforce such by-laws, rules and regulations as may be necessary for the administration, government and protection of the City Library; and(b) Accept money, personal property or real estate donated to the Library Board of the Santa Monica Public Library or its predecessor.(Amended at General Municipal Election, November 7, 2006; certified by Res. There shall be a Library Board consisting of five members to be appointed by the City Council from the qualified electors of the City who shall serve four-year terms and no member of said Board shall hold any paid office or employment in the City Government. (SMCC 1009).
