Seed Library

Please note: The Santa Monica Seed Library program is currently on hiatus. We do not know when the program will resume. Thank you for your participation and support!

The Montana Ave. Branch (1704 Montana Ave.) is proud to host the Santa Monica Seed Library, where we share bundles of donated seeds with local gardeners and aspiring green thumbs. See the Seed Library Brochure for more information.

Our Mission: The mission is to support home and school gardeners, nurture locally adapted plant varieties and build community through seed sharing and home grown food. If members wish, they can donate their own seeds for others to borrow.

How Do I Borrow Seeds? Visit the Montana Ave. Branch during curbside pickup to receive a free seed bundle of your choice, which will include multiple seed varieties. You do not need to have a library card, although we encourage you to get one so you can access our extensive gardening resource collection.

How Do I Donate Seeds? Seed donations are welcome and are accepted during curbside pickup.
*Please note we are currently updating the seed donation form and will update this page in the near future.
