Build a Better World in 2017 with the Library's Adult Summer Reading program! Read, design and create, explore world arts, learn to go green, and more. Join us for special programs throughout the summer. Sign up to participate at any Library location beginning Saturday, June 10, then turn in your completed summer reading card by Saturday, August 19 to receive a completion prize (while supplies last) and be entered to win one of three grand prizes. In addition to our regularly scheduled book discussions, which give you plenty of opportunity to read with your family, friends and neighbors, we have many other special events planned that will help us to Build a Better World. Pick up one of our monthly print calendars at any library location, or check out the electronic version below. Adult Summer Reading-related events will be marked with a Build a Better World globe icon like the one on the left.

ELIGIBILITY: The 2017 Build a Better World drawing is open to Santa Monica Public Library cardholders with an account that is current and in good standing on August 19, 2017. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older, and must register for Adult Summer Reading with any Santa Monica Public Library branch between June 10, 2017 and August 19, 2017. Employees of Santa Monica Public Library and the City of Santa Monica and their immediate family members are ineligible.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Summer reading participation cards must be returned to the Santa Monica Public Library by close of business (5:30 p.m.) on August 19, 2017 to be eligible for the prize drawing.
PARTICIPATION CARDS: Summer reading participation cards may be obtained from any Santa Monica Public Library location, beginning on June 10, 2017. Completed participation cards may be returned to any Santa Monica Public Library location by August 19, 2017.
ENTRY LIMITATIONS: One entry allowed per Santa Monica Public Library cardholder in good standing. Santa Monica Public Library reserves the right to deny late, incomplete or illegible entries.
DRAWING AND PRIZE LIMITATIONS: Drawings for prizes will be conducted at random. Prize winners will be notified via email or telephone of their prize and how the prize can be claimed. To claim prizes, prize winners will be required to show current government-issued identification. Prizes have no cash value and cannot be returned or exchanged for other prizes. Santa Monica Public Library reserves the right to modify prizes as necessary.
