    Adult Literacy Volunteer
    Volunteer literacy tutors work one-on-one with adult learners in a library setting. Training hours and a minimum six month commitment are required. Tutors meet with learners once or twice per week for 1 to 2 hour sessions.     Santa Monica Reads Book Discussion Group Leader
    Get involved in the annual Santa Monica Reads program by volunteering as a virtual discussion group leader. The Library provides training for discussion group volunteers who then have the opportunity to lead public book discussions on the featured title.     Teens! Volunteer at the Santa Monica Public Library to earn community service hours and learn how a library operates.
    Teens in grades 7-12 can volunteer or earn service credit hours in a variety of fun and creative ways at the library.

    Note: Volunteering at the Santa Monica Library is an ongoing program with no one-time opportunities. Volunteers have to complete an interview and orientation before they can begin volunteering. Please keep this in mind if you are required to perform community service by a specific deadline.

    How can teens join Teen Leadership Council?
    Teen Leadership Council meets at the library once a month and helps determine what kind of programs the library should host for teens.
