A DATABASE is an electronic resource that pulls together reference materials on specific subjects. The library subscribes to database (much like it subscribes to magazines), and Santa Monica Library cardholders can access most databases from home, as well as at the Library. If you are accessing databases from home, you will need to have your library card number on hand. Some databases may contain articles from magazines, newspapers, reference books, and other reliable sources. Others help you learn languages or take tests. All databases will have a basic search box where you can search by keyword, subject, or proceed to a more advanced search.
