The Santa Monica Public Library invites you to share your family or personal story and learn the basics of Digital Storytelling. This free, two-day workshop on August 5 and 6 is part of California Listens, a summer-long program sponsored by the California State Library and led by Berkeley-based StoryCenter.
In this workshop, you will create a 2 to 4-minute video using your personal and family images, videos and archival material. Learn how to tell a great story, write and record a narration script, and the basics of video editing. The video you create will become part of a statewide archive of stories about life in California.
We are seeking stories that reflect the full spectrum of life in Santa Monica. Long-time residents, newcomers, surfers, artists and entrepreneurs, Douglas Aircraft families – we want to hear from you! There is a limit of 10 participants for this workshop. Pick up an Interest Form at the Library, or complete the online Interest Form. The deadline for submission has been extended to July 12, 2016.
