| Please Return Materials
On Time ~ so others
can enjoy them. It's easy to renew
items.
The Library now
offers an email service that notifies
Library card holders, who have provided
us with their current email address, of
materials that are due back in three
days.
Here's steps that the Library takes
to encourage return of materials. When
items are... |
| 21 days overdue |
The Library mails you an
overdue notice. This is the time to call
(310) 458-8600, or come to the Library.
Staff can work with you to settle your
account. |
| 42 days overdue |
If the Library hasn't
heard from you, we mail you a
replacement bill. |
| 56 days overdue |
If still no response
from you, the Library forwards your
delinquent account to Unique National
Collections (UNC), a library materials
recovery agency. An additional $10
service fee is added to your account.
UNC sends three letters and calls twice
urging you to settle your account with
the Library. |
| 176 days overdue |
If we still haven't
heard from you, UNC takes action on your
delinquent account that may affect your
credit rating. |
