    Each library account is linked to a library card number and a 4-digit numeric PIN that is set when you first register for your library card. For privacy and security reasons, forgotten PIN numbers are not provided over the phone. You may bring a current Photo ID to one of our five locations and ask the Customer Service staff to assign you a new PIN. 

    Online Account

    The library's online catalog (BiblioCommons) and app (SMPL Mobile) offer remote access to your account. Use your library card number and PIN to log in. The first time you login you will be prompted to register your account by responding to a few questions. Once your account has been set up, you can view/manage your account and utilize a variety of library services.

    View Your Items/Due Dates In your menu options choose My SMPL or My Borrowing to access the Checked Out menu. Select the Checked Out menu option from the My SMPL tab of the online catalog.
    Renew an Item/ Extend a Due Date From the Checked Out menu, choose the plus symbol to the left of the item you would like to renew then click Renew. Or click the Renew All button in the top right to renew all your items at once. From the Checked Out menu, click the box to the left of the item(s) you would like to renew then click Renew Selected.
    View/Pay Fines and Fees In your menu options choose My SMPL or My Borrowing to access the Other menu. Under Other click on Fines to view your fines. Fines cannot be paid via the SMPL Mobile app. Select the Fines menu option from the My SMPL tab of the online catalog to view your fines. If you would like to pay your fines, choose Pay Fines Online to access the SMPL Smart Pay secure online payment service. You will then be prompted to log in again.
    Place a Hold/ Reserve Materials 1. Search for a title of interest in the online catalog. Click on item.
    2. Click the plus symbol in the top right then click Hold.
    3. Specify your preferred pickup location and then click Done.

    4. Click on the Confirm button.
    Cancel/Suspend Hold Requests In your menu options choose My SMPL or My Borrowing to access the Holds menu. This menu will show you items Ready for pickup, Active Holds, or Suspended. Choose Active Holds to Cancel or Suspend items. 1. Select the Holds menu option from the My SMPL tab of the online catalog.
    2. To cancel one or more holds, click the checkbox to the left of the title(s) and then click the Cancel button. (You could also choose Suspend, if you would like to delay the hold request.)
    View Past Checkouts If you register your account from the app, you will need to activate your Recently Returned record via BiblioCommons on our website. Select the Recently Returned menu option from the My SMPL tab of the online catalog to enable this feature.

    *A basic catalog is available for those who do not wish to register in BiblioCommons or download the SMPL Mobile App. The basic catalog retains basic account management functions but excludes reading lists, recommendations, and social networking features.
