    The Santa Monica Public Library is proud to have served our community for more than 125 years. We offer a blend of traditional and innovative services, and strive to maintain the highest quality of customer service.

    Today’s public libraries are active centers of the community, serving a variety of individual needs and interests. We offer access to the Internet, in addition to a sizeable collection of popular books, movies and music. Each month, the library offers a wide variety of free programs for all ages and interests.

    Employment Opportunities

    Santa Monica Public Library staff is employed by the City of Santa Monica. The Library offers a variety of part-time ("as-needed") and full-time job opportunities as vacancies occur.

    Internship Opportunities

    Internship opportunities are available for graduate students who are currently enrolled in a master's degree program in library and information science (accredited by the American Library Association). The degree program must be based at, or affiliated with, a university based in Southern California. Internships are unpaid.
