The Academy is a clearing house of information on the annual Academy Awards ceremonies and includes an Index to Motion Picture Credits for all Oscar winners and nominees. By linking to the Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library, you can learn about many of the institution’s publications, exhibits, and grants and search the library catalog.
American Film Institute
The AFI is an institution dedicated to providing education for and recognizing excellence in the art of film, television and digital media. Click on “Quick Links” to sign up free-of-charge for the “100 Years Lists,” e.g. the 100 best films, best musicals, best thrillers, best songs, etc. The Library subscribes to the AFI Catalog in which you can find complete production credits, plots, and fascinating historical notes on films produced between 1893-1974, as well as for AFI’s top ten films from 2000-2006. It is only accessible at the computers near the Reference Desk on the second floor.

The Encyclopedia includes television programs and people, historic moments and trends, and histories of major television networks and broadcasting systems around the world; more than 250 contributors have written 1,000 plus original essays for this source.
Internet Movie Database
Includes up-to-date film information and reviews for movies from around the world. It includes data from the silent era up through movies that are still in production. Link to Internet Movie Database TV and you can find full information for current day TV programming.

Includes directory listings for the film, television, and commercial production industry and the most up-to-date and relevant information on the people and companies that provide artistic and technical expertise.
