    Join us for the inaugural year of Adult Summer Reading at Santa Monica Public Library. We'll be celebrating with author talks, movie screenings, book discussions and more. Pick up a Groundbreaking Reads form at the Santa Monica Festival on June 1, or at any SMPL location thereafter, then turn in your completed form by August 17 to be eligible to win prizes for your summer reading activities. See the Groundbreaking Reads form for entry and prize details.

    In 2011, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, a haunting and innovative novel that uses vintage photographs and inventive narrative techniques to tell its story, caught the attention of readers worldwide. Join us as author Ransom Riggs celebrates the paperback release of his novel with a discussion and book signing. As an added bonus, Ransom Riggs has invited his fellow author pals Marie Lu, Tahereh Mafi, Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl to join him in a discussion panel. We'll have everyone's books here for the book sale and signing following the author talk.

Sit back and listen as a panel of some of the top audiobook narrators in the country, including Cassandra Campbell, John Lee, Coleen Marlo, Kathe Mazur and others, read from their favorite books and discuss the audiobook production process. A meet and greet reception with the narrators and SMPL librarians follows.
