Pick up a Literary Elements participation form at any SMPL location after June 7, then turn in your completed form by August 13 to be eligible to win prizes for your summer reading activities. See the bottom of this page for entry rules and prize details.

    Join us as we wrap up our season of Adult Summer Reading with a fun and free-wheeling author panel of mystery writers, including moderator Naomi Hirahara (Murder on Bamboo Lane), Kim Fay (The Map of Lost Memories), Samuel W. Gailey (Deep Winter), Rachel Howzell Hall (Land of Shadows) and Don Passman (The Amazing Harvey). The talk will be followed by a book sale and signing and author meet 'n' greet.

    LITERARY ELEMENTS DRAWING ENTRY RULES AND REGULATIONS

    ELIGIBILITY: The 2014 Literary Elements drawing is open to Santa Monica Public Library cardholders with an account that is current and in good standing on August 13, 2014. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.  Employees of Santa Monica Public Library and the City of Santa Monica and their immediate family members are ineligible.

    ENTRY DEADLINE: Drawing entries must be returned to the Santa Monica Public Library by close of business (9:00 p.m.) on August 13, 2014 to be eligible for the live drawing on August 16, 2014.

    ENTRY FORMS: Entry forms may be obtained from any Santa Monica Public Library location, beginning on June 7, 2014, until supply is depleted.  Completed forms may be returned to any Santa Monica Public Library location by August 13, 2014. Entry forms will also be published in the Festival issue of Seascape, from which they can be clipped and returned upon completion to any Santa Monica Public Library location by August 13, 2014.

    ENTRY LIMITATIONS: One entry per Santa Monica Public Library cardholder. Santa Monica Public Library reserves the right to deny late, incomplete or illegible entries.

    DRAWING: The drawing for prizes will take place at the Adult Summer Reading Finale event on Saturday, August 16, 2014, with the program beginning at 2:00 p.m. Prize winners in attendance will be required to show current government-issued identification to claim their prize in person. Prize winners not in attendance, or not holding a government-issued identification, will be notified of their prize and how the prize can be claimed via email or telephone message.

    DRAWING AND PRIZE LIMITATIONS: Drawings for prizes will be conducted at random. Prizes have no cash value and cannot be returned or exchanged for other prizes. Santa Monica Public Library reserves the right to modify prizes as necessary.
